Jeremy Astrid had just returned to the United Kingdom after spending 8 months in Russia. He had really enjoyed the expedition that almost got him killed but he had realized that he loved the thrill of being on the verge of death that was rivalied only by spending time with his daughter, Sophia. He was wearing a black suit that showed off his new goatee and growing out his hair. He was happy to see his mother land as he began walking down Diagon Alley.

Ines was enjoying a girl's day out with Sophia. She was enjoying being outside in the sunshine more. The pair had gotten ice cream cones and were hoping to meet up with Artemis later in Aussie to catch up and so Sophia could enjoy some girl time together. Ines was currently enjoying her mint chocolate chip ice cream while Sophia was enjoying a vanilla cherry blend. Sophia held her mother's free hand as they had went clothing shopping the day before as well as got Sophia new books, which were in a bag that her mother carried.

Jeremy saw Sophia and he followed her as he was curious to see who his daughter was with, he couldn't believe that she would be here by herself. He thought that she was probably exploring the street like he would've done when he was her age. He found her running to Ines and he stood there feeling nothing for his wife as he tried to feel the love he once had for her but felt nothing.

Ines hugged Sophia while still trying to hold her ice cream as she smiled brightly."Hey, Artemis invited us down for some outback Aussie food. She said it'd be pretty good and we'd get to try some more native treats."She told Sophia brightly before looking up to see Jeremy. Ines gave him a small smile."Hey Jeremy. How was Russia?"She asked him.

Ignoring Ines, Jeremy kneeled in front of Sophia and he was so happy to see her. "Hey, Petal, how you been?" He asked smiling at his only child. "How's your summer been? I got you somethings from my trip." He reached into his pocked and took out a teal necklace. "I got this for you."

Sophia blinked, seeing the necklace as she gently picked it up from him and looked at it."It's very pretty, Daddy."She told him and looked up at Ines a moment before looking back."I gave Mummy the babushka doll I had you get for her. She loved it...she said she always wanted a little Russian nesting doll."She told Jeremy honestly, gently stowing her necklace in her pocket."Mum took me to Tibet and I got to meet that Dalai Lama while we were there. He was quite insightful about the world. Then we got to go into India for a while before going to visit Auntie Artemis. She's quite fun to talk to as well...and they have a really sweet dog."

"I will take you to New Zealand next summer and Brazil. I always thought the Dali Lama was a bit overrated." Jeremy said knowing that he was now in competition with Ines as he noticed as soon as he started taking Sophia around the world she started copying as if they were vying for their daughter's affection.

Sophia giggled."Mummy said she'd wait a while to take me on another trip. She says that traveling is good in moderation but too much makes you tired. Besides, I liked the Dalai Lama. He was really nice and very cool as well as spoke fine English."She explained to Jeremy before frowning."Dad...I don't really want to travel most of next summer too. I only wanna go every once in a while cause Mum's right. Too much traveling burns you out."
Ines looked at Jeremy, her eyed full of honesty."I'm not going to fight you to spend time with Sophia over the summer. But if this coming up summer is one that she wants to stay back, she won't have to go traveling."She told him quietly. Her whole demeanor had changed since the last war and it seemed to be retreating inside herself and becoming more withdrawn except to people in a close central circle to her.

"I don't travel all the time. I teach but I have about 4 expenditions a year. I find that home isn't home anymore." Jeremy answered then he looked at Ines. He began to think about how happy he was when he was away from Ines. "How are you able to read my thoughts? I will be by the house in a couple days. Why are the locks changed on the doors?"

"Because in nine months, you can tell a lot about a schedule without knowing a lot. And you haven't been able to teach because Artemis is working fervently with many of the other teachers to get Hogwarts fixed back up. Apparently, a rogue group of Death Eaters decided to have some fun after the war and tore it all to heck and the protection spells are shot since Alyson's death."Ines reminded Jeremy quietly. She then got out a pair of keys and handed them to Jeremy."Because I had time, I got bored, and I felt like changing the locks to magic-proof doorknobs. That and I didn't think you really cared about being home if you're never there. I figured you would just apparate in."She said softly, not meeting his eyes at all."Sophia and I are going to go spend some time with Artemis down in Aussie this evening. I know you don't like to talk to her well so don't worry about it."

"Well, you're right." Jeremy said to Ines his cold nature coming out. He didn't like Artemis and it was hard because he thought that she was one of his good friends but when she went after him, that was the end of their friendship. He thought about how he has been faithful throughout all his expeditions, his time with The Veela. He figured that even though he is angry with his wife, he won't be unfaithful to her. "Thank you." He said taking the keys and he leaned into whisper to Ines. "I'm sorry but even though I love you I can't be around you until this is resolved we can get pass this but I don't that boy in my house." He said as he was referring to Felix.

"For your information, Felix hasn't been by. He calls as he's busy with his new job and raising his daughter."Ines explained quietly to Jeremy. She then gently looked away, not meeting eyes with her husband."If you loved me, we would work this out sooner rather than later. How can you love someone that you can't stand to be around?"Ines asked softly, looking down towards the ground."If I didn't know any better, I'd say that you'd rather travel every day than come home to the monster that raised her son to be a dark wizard when he had such a bright future, huh?"She said to where only Jeremy could hear her. Her criticism fell harsher on herself than on anyone else anymore, if anyone else ever was criticized."Most people are like that now so, don't worry. You're not alone."

"I'll be back in a few weeks, a month at least and I'll be home for a couple weeks then I'm going to help Uncle Ben with a special project." Jeremy said to Sophia as he kissed her on the forehead. He placed his hand on her face in an endearing way, he looked at Ines and felt the same nothing he had with previous encounters. He turned around and started to walk away towards the exit into Muggle London.

Ines looked away from the leaving Jeremy."If you ever loved me, you'd stop tormenting me like this."She said softly under her breath, contemplating the idea of replacing the locks again. She didn't like the constant absences and the stark silence. It only reminded her of how much she had lost in the third war as well as what Artemis told her on the day of the war.
